Balancing Being a Great Friend and an Entrepreneur

with Meg Wheeler

Four Ways to Being a Better Girlfriend

  1. Always try to pay attention to the big things going on in your friends’ lives. We’re not talking birthdays or anniversaries here. We’re talking up for a job promotion, a big presentation, things that you wouldn’t normally expect a much needed pick-me-up.

  2. Pick a different friend every week and make it a point to do something nice for them. Whether this is a cup of coffee or a card, picking one friend a week makes the idea of keeping up with friendships so much easier.

  3. Ask “how are you really doing.” Give them the space and the time to tell you what’s happening beneath the surface. Bonus tip: Listening can be one of the best gifts you can give someone.

  4. Open up to your friends. It goes both ways! In order to maintain that deep, vulnerable friendship, you have to intentionally remove the walls on a regular basis. Bonus tip: Where you have your conversation matters as much as what conversations you have.

How to Walk Through Becoming Entrepreneur

“Self care and being really thoughtful and patient about things, and finding balance between everything in your life is so important when you’re walking through entrepreneurship.”

You have the opportunity to decide how fast your business grows. Understanding that your business can grow while still being able to enjoy time with your family and friends, is something to remember when you feel like it’s out of control.
